Simple Floral 3×3″ Cards

Hello and Merry belated Christmas! Hoping you had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas and Boxing Day. This year we hosted Christmas at our house, which was enjoyable but stressful. It’s always funny how quickly Christmas Day seems to rush by, particularly when you think about the countless hours of preparation that are put in! It’s all worth it in the end though. We had a great day surrounded by family, and everyone went home with full tummies and a container (or two) full of cookies. Katie spent seven and a half hours the day before Christmas baking up storm of Cream Cheese Spritz cookies {recipe} and Peppermint Choc Chip Cookies {recipe}. Cookies for days….literally!

With the rush and stress of Christmas out of the way I wanted to share a few quick and simple thank you cards Katie created for customers recently. There are a few spoilers from the Occasions catalogue…

Stampin' Up! Quick and Simple Floral Thank You Notecards | Using the NEW Number of Years Stamp Set | Created by Katie Legge

Aren’t they pretty? The quartet of pastel colours combined with the watercolour-like texture in the stamp results in these lovely soft and simple cards. The floral spray stamps are from a brand new stamp set, Number of Years, which bundles with the coordinating large number framelits, available with the launch of the new Occasions catalogue on January 5th.
The sentiment, embossed in gold for a touch of elegance, resides in the Rose Wonder stamp set, a gorgeous upcoming set which also bundles with matching framelits. Check back here on the 5th of January to see both new stamp sets and the rest of the Occasions catalogue.

Another spoiler, though difficult to capture in photos, is the clear Wink of Stella brush pen. This is a new tool coming in the catalogue which applies a thin coating of super duper fine glitter, adding just a little shimmer to your projects to make them shine. It is seriously an awesome product which I can not wait to share with you come January 5th… I would go so far as to say it is probably one of my favourites from the new catalogue!

In the photos below I attempted to capture some of the beautiful shimmery the Wink of Stella pen produces…though it is much more visible and beautiful in person. I added a ‘Wink’ of shimmer to the flowers on the cards and envelopes.

For the first lot of cards I used a Subtles colour scheme: with Wild Wasabi as the stem/leaves, and Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral for the various flowers. The following two cards I changed it up a little using a Brights colour scheme with Old Olive for the stem/leaves and Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, and Real Red for the flowers. (The card and envelope on the right in the photo below use Wild Wasabi instead of Old Olive for the stem/leaves).

For each 3×3″ card I also stamped a matching envelope, complete with Wink of Stella shimmery-ness.

Tomorrow I’m planning to share a full-size card with a similar design using the same stamp sets. Check back tomorrow to see the post.

    • Hi Karen, thank you for your comment. For the envelopes I used the ‘mini envelopes’ which Stampin’ Up! used to sell. Unfortunately these particular envelopes have been discontinued, however, you could definitely make a 3×3″ size envelope with the Envelope Punch board. 🙂
