Welcoming the New Year with Mars Bar Slice

New Year Blog 2-001Hello!

This is Katie, just checking in to say Happy New Year! Hope 2013 was a great year for you and that 2014 will be even better! Have you made any New Year’s Resolutions? One of mine is to limit the amount of craft projects I have going at one time…and to clean up after each one! Hahaha I wonder how I’ll go keeping that resolution… 😉

To get into the festive spirit of the New Year I created this 2014 banner to decorate a plate of freshly-made Mars Bar Slice. YUM!

New Year Blog 3-001The banner I have used is from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits set which has been stamped with the Dictionary background stamp in Illuminate ink to add interest to the banners. The numbers were cut using the Typeset alphabet sizzlits in the Big Shot with Champagne Glimmer Paper. I really like the look of Black and Gold together (or in this case, Black and Champagne – so striking!). The star is from the Circle Card Thinlits Die pack, and is a little bit bigger than the star from the Mini Merry Punch Pack which is really awesome because you have more creative possibilities with the different sized stars.

Hope you have a wonderful start to the New Year, wherever you are and however you celebrate it. I will be spending New Year’s Eve in the craft room (where else would you want to be?!) 😉

Have a good one,

Katie and Rachel xx
